“DRS-M wheel blocks (models 112-200) adopts lightweight aluminum housing, 5m/s travel speeds, and patented alignment-free replacement for stacker cranes.”

The DRS-M series (models 112 to 200) has become a benchmark for stacker cranes for low-bay warehouse. The core reasons for its widespread adoption in these devices include:

Modular DRS-M Wheel Blocks for Low-Bay Stacker Cranes

1. The Advantages of Aluminum-Housed DRS-M Wheel Blocks

Stacker cranes for low-bay warehouse demand extreme acceleration and deceleration rates.

Aluminum Housing: The DRS-M utilizes high-grade die-cast aluminum instead of traditional cast iron, significantly reducing unsprung mass. This allows motors to achieve higher dynamic response (e.g., travel speeds of 3 to 5 m/s) with lower power consumption, which is critical for maximizing warehouse throughput.

Thermal Advantages: Frequent start-stop cycles in stacker cranes operations generate substantial heat. The aluminum housing provides superior thermal conductivity, dissipating heat rapidly to prevent the degradation of bearing lubricants.

2. Maximizing Storage Density: Compact Integration and 5-Sided Connection

Compactness is essential for stacker cranes for low-bay warehouse to minimize aisle width and maximize storage density.

Five-Sided Connection: The DRS-M design allows engineers to integrate the wheel block directly into the  stacker cranes mast or chassis frame without the need for additional transition flanges.

Integrated Guidance: Horizontal guide rollers can be mounted directly via integrated threaded holes. This enables clearance control between the  stacker cranes and the rail to be maintained at the millimeter level, ensuring stability during high-speed travel.

3. "Alignment-Free" Replacement: Minimizing Downtime

For 24/7 automated warehouses, a stacker cranes breakdown inside an aisle represents a significant operational loss.

Fixed Top Connection: When wheel blocks need replacement, you simply remove the bolts and swap in a new unit. Thanks to the alignment pins and symmetrical housing, the wheel block resets to its precise position automatically.

No Re-alignment Required: Laser alignment is notoriously difficult within the narrow confines of a stacker cranes aisle. The "Plug-and-Play" replacement feature of the DRS-M directly addresses this pain point.

4. Versatile Travel Wheel Materials for Diverse Rails

Stacker cranes for low-bay warehouse operate on various track surfaces, and the DRS-M offers a wide range of wheel options:

Spheroidal Graphite Cast Iron (GGG70): Ideal for standard steel rails.

Polyamide Travel Wheels: If your stacker operates on painted floor tracks or specialized surfaces, these wheels offer extremely quiet running and high traction—perfect for high-acceleration profiles.
